Salmonella Prompts Trader Joe's to Recall Basil in NC and 28 Other States

Trader Joe's and the FDA are warning consumers not to eat Infinite Herbs brand organic basil sold at Trader Joe's due to a multistate salmonella outbreak.

The organic basil from Infinite Herbs was sold at Trader Joe's stores in 29 states and the District of Columbia. 

Consumers who purchased organic basil from Trader Joe's should check their refrigerators and freezers and not eat 2.5-ounce packages of Infinite Herbs organic basil. It was sold between February 1 through April 6, 2024.

Salmonella illness usually occurs within 12 to 72 hours of eating contaminated food and typically lasts four to seven days. 

The basil was sold at Trader Joe’s stores in D.C. and AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, VT, and WI.
