Hannah Hikes: Stone Mountain State Park

One of the reasons I love living in Winston Salem is how close I am to some amazing hiking. Saturday my friends and I set out to hike the 4.3 mile Stone Mountain Loop at Stone Mountain State Park. It was an amazing hike with some beautiful views of the green mountain tops, the natural granite (I think it was granite anyways) summit and the waterfall.

I had a blast exploring Saturday despite being miserable the last half mile of the hike. Why is the last half mile always the worst? THE WORST! If you haven't been out to Stone Mountain yet I HIGHLY recommend checking it out. It is just on hour from Winston Salem and a great way to spend a day or even camp with family and friends!

Oh, but watch out for snakes. Saturday I learned snakes can swim. If you need me I will never be going in the water ever again.
