Meet Lily

Meet Lily

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.

Cute enough for you??? Lily is a charming, well adjusted 10 year old, 11 pound Pomeranian mix who has lived in a loving home her whole life and she is simply a doll! Her date of birth is 12/20/08. She has been recently groomed in a puppy cut.

She is an energetic, bouncy little girl who loves walks and loves to run. She truly seems much younger than her age.

Lily knows all kinds of tricks and will do just about anything for a treat.

She will dance and spin on command, she will sit up and beg, she will sit, and she will do down for a treat, too, just let her know what you want and she will do it!

Lily is friendly and comes running up to say hello to strangers. She is not a fan of an unfamiliar person immediately reaching down and grabbing her cute self to be picked up, but she is totally happy and cooperative just as soon as she knows you.

Lily is good with other dogs, easy going around them.

She is great in the car, settling down on the shot gun seat for a ride and maybe sneaking onto your lap so she can see out better.

She seems to be nicely house trained and will tell you when she needs to go out once settled in a place. She keeps her room clean and potties right away when taken outside for that purpose.

So, what is the catch about this perfect little girl? Lily has a history of needing surgery to remove bladder stones and her family felt that they would have to euthanize her if she needed surgery again in the future.

We just had Lily thoroughly checked out by our vet and she currently does NOT have any stones and her bladder is working just fine. She does tend to have crystals in her urine and absolutely must remain on a urinary diet and get only urinary treats (even if she begs otherwise).

She also needs to be in a home in which she always has access to water and is allowed timely potty breaks throughout the day since a dog who is not given enough water and made to hold it for long periods of time is much more likely to develop new stones.

The best strategy is a urinary diet and normal amounts fluids going in and out to wash away any crystals.

So, this baby doll is perky, loving, sociable, good with dogs, fun to take places, loves walks, and seems quite healthy other than a history of stones and need for a special diet. Her new family does need to be aware that, if a new stone develops, she would need surgery again. But, with careful management, this may never happen again.

Apply today! She does not plan to hang around in rescue for long and is more than ready for her perfect new home.

Adoption donation $150.
