CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill women's basketball coach Sylvia Hatchell has resigned, according to a Thursday night announcement from Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham.
The announcement came in just before midnight.
The decision comes after UNC hired on April 1 an outside firm, Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein, to review the culture of the women's basketball team. Hatchell and her staff were placed on leave pending the completion of the review.
