Martinsville Speedway’s Annual Christmas Toy Drive

The 2018 edition of Martinsville Speedway’s Annual Christmas Toy Drive, benefiting Grace Network of Martinsville and Henry County is scheduled for Saturday, December 8 and will once again include opportunities to ride in a two-seater race car or drive a personal car around the Speedway.

Between 3 and 5 p.m. and from 8 to 9 p.m., people who pay $60 will be able to ride with Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell in a two-seater race car. From 5 to 8 p.m. folks who wish to drive their own car around the Speedway are able to do so for a $20 donation or by bringing a new, unwrapped toy.

“The Christmas Toy Drive is not only one of our favorite days throughout the year, it’s also one of the most important,” Campbell said. “So many families in our area struggle financially with providing basic needs that they don’t have the ability to provide a surprise at Christmas for their kids.

“We want to do everything we can to ensure every child in our area will be able to wake up on Christmas morning with a smile on their face and a toy in their hands.”

The Grace Network of Martinsville and Henry County, which is made up of more than 200 churches in the area, will partner with local school systems to identify children in need.

The goal is to raise $10,000 in donations and toys.

In addition to laps, The Hot Dog Stand will be open and selling drinks and the Famous Martinsville Speedway Hot Dog.

Checks should be made payable to Grace Network.
