The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office says a clerical error led to the release of a man who should have remained in custody.
Col. Randy Powers with the Sheriff’s Department says 37-year-old Dathan Abney appeared in High Point District Court on Thursday. A judge dismissed all charges against him for that particular case. Powers says Abney was taken back to the High Point Detention Center with papers from that court showing his charges were dismissed. Abney was then released. Click here for more details from News 2
